7 foods for building muscle

Everyone at one point or another has tried to train, go to the gym, eat healthy and overall make a change to their lifestyle and diet. Some people are more persistent, other just don’t have the time or patience or they see results slower than they would like to and quit. Today I’m going to show you 7 foods which are proven to be beneficial while you train to build muscle, to lose fat, or simply to include in your daily diet.

1. Eggs -  they are a great source of protein, one egg contains 6-8 grams of protein depending on it’s size. It’s affordable, great snack and contains plenty of essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

2. Lean beef - a great option if you’re looking to put on serious size, and it tastes amazing. It can be a bit expensive, but you will know that it is a quality meat with no added preservatives.

3. Chicken breast - it is one of the most commonly consumed meats worldwide. It is a protein-packed option and it is especially popular among fitness enthusiasts. One portion of 100 grams contains 31 grams of protein. 80% of the calories from chicken breast comes from protein, while 20% comes from fat.

4. Fish - it is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It is loaded with important nutrients such as protein and vitamin D. As a whole all types of fish are good for you, it comes down to personal taste at the end of the day. To reach your omega-3 requirements I will recommend to eat fish at least once or twice a week.

5. Avocado - the avocado has a smooth and creamy texture and is higher in fat than most other fruits. They have a unique nutrition profile and are rich in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin K, vitamin E, vitamin C and potassium. Also the body needs the healthy fats from the avocado in order to function.

6. High-quality protein powder - this is not technically a food, but it is a great way to get more protein in if you do not have time to cook. Also protein is one of the building blocks of bone, muscle and skin and consuming it includes health benefits such as weight management by making you feel fuller for longer, muscle growth of course, recovery after exercise and allowing you to perform better.

7. Sweet potato - it provides a number of health benefits and are easy to add to your diet, they are rich in antioxidants and fiber. It contributes to a healthy gut by allowing the growth of good gut bacteria, supports healthy vision and overall supports your immune system.

And remember, whether you choose to workout and live a healthy lifestyle, the most important thing is go find enjoyment while doing it. Don’t do it just because you have to. Stay happy and take care!
