How to pick your travel destinations

If you’ve made a decision that you want to travel more this year, you’ve probably made a plan to start saving for your next trip, too. But how are you going to choose where to go? Budget and time will definitely play a part in the process of picking, and with so many places all over the world you would want to go everywhere. Unfortunately that isn’t always possible for everyone, so here are some tips to help you choose your travel destinations.

Before we start there are some things you should think about, things like whether you prefer to go to the beach or mountain? With family, friends or solo? Budget travel or luxury travel? Adventure or relaxation?

Now that you’ve thought about those things let’s get to the main point

Firstly - Be open-minded
If you haven’t heard of a place or don’t know where it is exactly, but you’ve stumbled across cheap prices for flights, hotels, etc. then Google it, find as much as you can for that certain place and if it appeals to you book a flight, pack your bags and go have an adventure!

Second - Don’t assume the capital is the “best” city
Many countries have a “second city” where it’s often more cheap, beautiful, and overall a better alternative to the capital.

Third - Ask the question “why”?
Why do you want to travel? Is it to relax? Have fun with your family and/or friends? Take a break from work? Learn something new and explore different cultures? Or to get a tan? It’s much easier to decide WHERE you want to go, when you know WHY you’re going there.

Fourth - Go Solo
If you’ve found a place you really want to go to, but nobody wants to come with, then go solo! don’t let this stop you. Sure, sometimes it can be better to have a companion to talk to and discuss your experience, but it will be worse not to go at all and miss out on an opportunity just because there wasn’t someone to come with you.

And Fifth - There’s always a budget option
Don’t let the budget stop you from going somewhere. Even the most expensive countries have budget options, where you can stay at a hostel and cook your own food, public transport and city tours which are little to no money and many more. If you choose this option you will have to be creative though, but that makes it more fun!

Think like an optimist and stay positive

You have probably heard the benefits positive thinking has on us. It helps you cope with stress and tough situations and overall improve your mental health and strengthen your immune system. But this doesn’t happen overnight, it’s an everyday effort to be a positive thinker and turn a bad situation into a good one, especially if you’re more prone to negative thinking. So what can you do to become a more positive thinker? Well, I’m going to show you some methods which you can include in your everyday life.   First - Avoid negative self-talk - it involves the things you mentally tell yourself, how you perform and interact with the world around you. And if it centers on negative thoughts, your self-esteem will suffer. So what can you do to avoid them? One thing is to start noticing when you have these thoughts and actively work to change them. If you notice you’re starting to engage in negative self-talk, start looking for ways to change your thought patterns and adjust your ...

Weight loss: Cardio vs Lifting

Many people struggle with obesity and often find themselves in a tricky situation simply because they do not know whether they should do cardio or lift weights. It is hard to know which is a better use of your time and which will have more benefits on your body. So in this post I will cover the basics you need to know about cardio vs lifting for weight loss 1. Weight training helps you burn more calories everyday - although weight training doesn’t burn as   many calories as a cardio workout, it has other important benefits. For example it is more effective than cardio for building muscle, and muscle burns more calories at rest, including fat. Because of this, it is commonly said that building muscle is the key to increasing your resting metabolism — that is how many calories you burn at rest.   2. High-intensity Interval Training or HIIT -   it provides similar benefits to Cardio, but in less time. Although weight training and cardio are two of the most p...
