The watch in todays world

The watch has been around for decades and it has evolved quite a lot from spring-driven clocks, to pocketwatches, to how we know it today. It is a timepiece intended to be worn by a person around the wrist and many modern day watches often display the day, date, month and year. Today, most watches in the market are medium-priced, with quartz movements and are used mainly for timekeeping. However, expensive collectable watches often are valued more than for simple timekeeping and have traditional mechanical movements. Many watchmakers use combination of different metals, straps, movements, displays and so forth, so that people can find the perfect one for them. But from so many different variations and functions to choose from one rarely stops at just one or two.

In modern days people use it as an accessory rather than to look at what time it is, but nonetheless many still prefer to know the time by looking at their wristwatch instead of their phone. In my opinion the watch is the single great accessory which can elevate your whole outfit, it shows people that you are reliable as well and it makes a statement. It is a representation of how you like to carry yourself, and let’s be honest, it is an accessory which you will get many compliments for and it is an investment, an investment which you will have for years to come and maybe pass it to you children or even grandchildren.

If you are a watch lover you don’t need to spend thousands, there are really good watches for far less. And a “good watch” is subjective for everyone. But as long as you are pleased with it, as long as you like it and it makes you happy than that’s all that matters.
